Time to Change

Things are Changing!

As we come towards the end of 2021 and with less than 8 weeks until Christmas, it is the perfect time to take a look back at the year and redefine your goals moving forwards. For me, this is the opportune moment to make some significant changes in the way we work before we move into a fresh, new look 2022!

I really started to focus on C&E HR Consultancy in January of this year having survived the first year of Covid with two fledgling businesses. Although Covid has done little to aid the growth of a new business, the labour market uptake in the past quarter has been wonderful and I can honestly say that we are gaining momentum, building a loyal client base and word of mouth is acting as a wonderful mechanism for new business.

So, 10 months in I now have a much better idea of what we will be focusing on moving into 2022. Here are some of the changes that you can expect to see – with many more being introduced over the coming weeks:

1.       Your Weekly C&E Blog will move to a monthly blog arriving in your inboxes at the beginning of each month! The weekly blog has been an instrumental tool in guiding new clients towards my standpoint on many useful topics regarding HR and Jobs. When I meet new clients, I always guide them towards useful blogs on the website and if they are still interested in using our services, they will come back to me for more.

That being said, my blogs are not monetized and therefore used as a resource purely for my business. This means that the continued writing of the blogs on a weekly basis is becoming less and less of a priority.

I wrote the first C&E Blog in February 2020 and there has been a strict weekly addition to the library ever since – therefore something in the region of 84 blogs! Recently I have started to repeat some of the blogs, but I don’t want that to become the norm, so I feel that now is a perfect time to move to a monthly blog post.

Here are some of the most popular blogs from the past two years:

·       28 Remote Working Job Sites: https://www.candehrconsultancy.com/blog-1-1/28-remote-working-job-sites

·       CV Writing FAQs: https://www.candehrconsultancy.com/blog-1-1/the-art-of-cv-writing-faqs

·       Beating the ATS: https://www.candehrconsultancy.com/blog-1-1/beating-the-ats-applicant-tracking-system

·       LinkedIn Success: https://www.candehrconsultancy.com/blog-1-1/linked-in-success

·       How to Ace your Next Interview: https://www.candehrconsultancy.com/blog-1-1/how-to-ace-your-next-interview

2.       My Daily Instagram Posts will reduce to three times a week or more depending upon what is happening with the business. Some of you may have noticed that in the past couple of weeks Instagram has had some issues and I haven’t been able to use it in the way I am used to. This isn’t necessarily a terrible thing, but it did mean that my usual daily scheduling from Instagram to Facebook & LinkedIn has had to be rethought.

In examining my marketing statistics, I know that my audience are not on Instagram and so therefore, spending too much time on this type of social media marketing is not productive for the business. That being said, it is important for me to have a presence, to meet other like-minded people in this community and continue to have the enjoyment I feel from working on my campaigns.

From the very beginning I chose to do all my social media marketing myself and not outsource it to others. It means that I have learned a huge amount about something completely new to me and I feel that I have gained a lot of new skills as a result.

In addition to changing my Instagram strategy, I have also chosen not to invest in marketing here in France for the time being. The paid advertising has not been as successful as it may have been and feel that the money can be better utilized elsewhere. So watch this space!

3.       In terms of my Service Line, you will find that some changes have started to happen as a result of market demand:

·       I am focusing less on CV Writing and more on guiding others to tweak their CVs, Cover Letters and LinkedIn Profiles. Therefore, spending more time on Recruitment/ Job Search Strategy than the act of simply writing CVs. I have found that most of the professionals with whom I work have good bases for their CVs and so do not feel that it is necessary for them to pay out for a CV Writing service. It means I can really focus on helping them to get the jobs that they are applying for with a more integrated approach.

·       I have conducted 6 Mock Interviews in the past month and all candidates have been awarded positions. This is going to become increasingly important as a service moving forwards.

·       A whole new Coaching & Mentoring package will be launching in the coming weeks which will focus purely on Success in a New Position & Aiming for Promotion – this programme will focus on setting your initial objectives, managing upwards, working on your KPIs and your own professional development. Much more to come on this in the near future!

In next month’s blog I’ll be exploring my statistics and looking back on 2021 as I did last year. I always find it useful to have goals moving forwards and a to-do list to check off, but it is equally as important to reflect back upon achievements and reassess the way forwards as much as is feasible.

As ever if you have any questions about the blog contents or any of the services we offer please do not hesitate to get in touch with us here.
